Hello! I am Ashley Marie, owner of The Ballroom Experience.

I am eager to share my love and passion for ballroom dance with you and I pride myself in doing so in a welcoming, friendly and non-judgmental atmosphere. I apply my diverse dance knowledge to your individual vision, to create a unique and memorable experience while achieving your dance goals!

I grew up in South Florida and always had a natural draw to rhythm, culture, and music, which led me to my first formal Ballroom Dance steps, nearly 23 years ago, at teacher training class in a Fred Astaire Dance Studio. I then dedicated the majority of the following two decades of my life to teaching, training, performing and contributing in the Ballroom Dance Industry. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege to work alongside some of the country’s most talented dancers and have been mentored by some of the world’s most renowned coaches. I have devoted time in numerous studios, both franchise and independent, where my professional training was garnered, teaching techniques developed, and my own dance skills honed. I have taught a multitude of students over the years including adults, children, amateur teams, and couples and have taken many of my pro/am students, youth, and teams to participate in exciting, prestigious events and competitions, both domestic and international. I am a former Professional American Rhythm competitor and finalist, and a seasoned performer in the dance industry.

Now settled in North Carolina, I focus on teaching and sharing the joy of ballroom dance with individuals, couples, seniors and youth. It is amazing how dance can transform lives, relationships, and even communities.

My sophisticated experience and skilled expertise, coupled with my genuine love for teaching and amicable personality, ensure that you are in great hands while embarking on your own ballroom dance journey!
